Building bridges of peace and shaping the future in Africa's Great Lakes region
This hybrid conference is focused on the challenges and opportunities of peacebuilding in the Great Lakes region of Africa. At a time of deep political, social, and environmental crises, the goal is to find common ground for building bridges of dialogue, reconciliation, and hope. The event offers a space for exchange between academia, practice, and civil society.
ABI Director Andreas Mehler will give a presentation at 10 a.m. entitled “Democracy, political instability, and security crises: a major challenge for the promotion of permanent peace in the Great Lakes region of Africa.”
The event is organized by the Cluster for Peacebuilding of the Coordination Civil Society and Research at the University of Freiburg (Caritas Studies). Registration for participation (online or in person) is possible via Eveeno.
