The ABI is looking for a Student Assistant (25-30h/month) for ERC-funded Project on Migration

The Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institut e.V. Freiburg is calling for applications for a position as Student Assistant (25-30hours/month) for the ERC-funded project “The Political Lives of Migrants: Perspectives from Africa (PolMig)”

Your profile:

  • BA or MA student in social sciences, at least 3rd semester, based in Freiburg
  • Strong interest in the subject areas of the ABI in particular Global South perspectives
  • Previous engagement with forced migration research is an advantage
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Independence and reliability
  • Availability (duration of studies in Freiburg) for at least another 1 year starting as soon as possible and latest in November 2024

Your tasks:

  • Research support (literature reviews, editing and helping to prepare data collection) for a research project on political rights of migrants in Africa
  • Assistance in the planning and implementation of project-related events
  • Some assistance in administrative tasks
