The ABI can look back on a very successful year of 2024. The institute is well positioned in terms of topics and personnel and once again provided important scientific and political impetus in the past year. It also contributed to the public debate with interesting events and projects.
In the report, we provide detailed reports on the activities of the research clusters, for example on workshops, events, research projects, and publications. Additionally, you can find an overview of the cooperation with the University of Freiburg, for example about the colonial legacy of the university – the ongoing process of the repatriation of human remains of Cameroonian Maka, that are part of the Alexander Ecker Collection at the University of Freiburg, was closely accompanied by the ABI. The second part of the report contains a summary of our work listed in tabular form.
