"De/Coloniality Now" initiative funds early career researchers at ABI

García Pinzón und Glawion werden von De/Coloniality Now gefördert.

The "De/Coloniality Now" initiative at the University of Freiburg funds early career research tandems to offer researchers practical experience. The funded projects bring together multidisciplinary & international teams of researchers.

This year, "De/Coloniality Now" funds two projects of researchers at the ABI:

Viviana García Pinzón will work with Dr. Jan Grill (Universidad del Valle) and Mag. Ana María Cruz (Universidad del Valle; Universidad de San Buenaventura) on their project „Caring life in and from the urban margins: Women, ollas comunitarias, and everyday resistance in Cali, Colombia". The project studies how women in Cali (Colombia) use cooking as a counter strategy to challenge violence and multiple forms of oppression and a means for co-creating new worlds in the context of a (post)colonial city.

Tim Glawion will work with Dr Marius Crépin Mouguia (University of Bangui) and Josaphat Musamba (Ghent University) on their project „Exploring opportunities for decolonial cross-area comparison – Central African Republic and Democratic Republic of the Congo". The project explores a decolonial alternative in comparing peace and security across countries to question typical knowledge processes in global academic collaboration and to create empirical and conceptual findings in peace and conflict studies.

Our congratulations!
