Richard Legay new senior researcher at the ABI

Richard Legay has joined the ABI in October as a postdoctoral researcher. A trained public historian, he will study the mediatisation of the restitution of African cultural heritage stolen during the colonial period. He is particularly interested in the impact of the digital turn on the debates.

Legay received his PhD from the University of Luxembourg in 2020, where he studied the transnational history of commercial radio stations and popular culture. He previously worked at the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary & Digital History as a postdoc and curator, and was for the past year a lecturer at the Institut für Geschichtsdidaktik und Public History at the University of Tübingen.
