The territorial public service: dynamics of actors, themes and local development

Last week, the Centre d'Excellence de Gouvernance Locale en Afrique (CEGLA) organised its first international colloquium in Niamey with over 70 participants from Senegal, Mali, Niger, Cameroon, Burkina Faso and Benin. For three days they discussed the dynamics and challenges of local authorities for local development in different West African countries in more than 20 lectures and two round tables. CEGLA is the West African-German Centre for Sustainable and Integrative Local Administration and Governance funded by the DAAD as part of its Excellence Strategy. The ABI is a member of CEGLA. Helga Dickow took part in the colloquium and a CEGLA working meeting at the University of Abdou Moumouni de Niamey.
