Tim Glawion is co-Editor in Chief of Africa Spectrum, a senior researcher at the Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institute and research associate at the German Institute for Global and Area Studies. He is the author of The Security Arena in Africa: Local Order-Making in the Central African Republic, Somaliland and South Sudan (Cambridge University Press 2020) and numerous articles on hybrid orders, local security governance, fragile states, and qualitative methodology. His current research focuses on security paradoxes and the monopoly on the use of force in Lebanon and the Central African Republic.
