Freiburg Africa Talks: Germany and Africa - quo vadis?

African actors are making their voices heard in world affairs more visibly than ever before. In view of recent military coups in the Sahel region, increasing Russian influence, but also opportunities in energy cooperation and the joint reappraisal of the colonial past, German Africa policy faces important tasks - and is also being scrutinized. 

 

Ambassador Christoph Retzlaff, Director for Sub-Saharan Africa and the Sahel at the Federal Foreign Office, and Prof. Dr. Alexander Makulilo, professor for political science at the University of Dar es Salaam, will discuss these topics. Prof. Dr. Andreas Mehler of the ABI will moderate the event.

 

The event is part of the Colloquium Politicum of the University of Freiburg and is organized jointly with the ACT - Africa Centre for Transregional Research and the Arnold Bergstraesser Institute.
