MEDAM-Launch: Rethinking EU migration and asylum policies

At the launch of the MEDAM Assesment Report 2019, "Rethinking EU migration and asylum policies: Managing immigration jointly with countries of origin and transit" on 16th October at CEPS in Brussels, Franzisca Zanker presented the West African perspective on EU migration and asylum policy to about 50 listeners. She presented the results of the research for the countries Gambia, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal, which were developed within the framework of the research project "The Political Economy of West African Migration Governance" funded by the Mercator Foundation. The research findings were debated in a panel with  H.E. Ms. Teneng Mba Jaiteh, Ambassador of Gambia to the EU; Richard Young, Advisor on Migration for the EU and Philip Bob Jusu from the Permanent Mission to the Africa Union to the EU.
