We are pleased to welcome Elikem Ashiabi and Chinwe Ogbonna as new ALMA Fellows at the ABI.

ALMA (Asia, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa) Fellows are an interdisciplinary group of PhD students and postdocs who, in the spirit of the ALMA concept, work empirically and comparatively on socially significant phenomena in non-European spaces and societies.

Elikem's PhD project is entitled "Winners and Losers of Electoral Reforms in Africa: Why Do Opposition Parties Participate in Post-Reform Elections?"

Chinwe is working on "An Investigative Study of the Effect of Imperialism on the Traditional/cultural Leadership Institution of Igbo in Eastern Nigeria".

Both are supervised by Andreas Mehler.
