From 28th April to 5th May 2019, over 50 members of the international project team of the DAAD-funded "Centre d'Excellence de Gouvernance Locale en Afrique" (CEGLA) met at the University of Public Administration in Kehl and at the ABI in Freiburg. CEGLA is one of the eleven African Centres of Excellence funded by the DAAD. It supports the establishment of Master programmes as well as research in the field of public administration at the participating universities in Senegal, Mali and Niger. The ABI and the West African LASDEL are research partners within CEGLA. CEGLA's research programme, which is in the process of being set up, includes topics such as decentralisation, local government, sustainable development, security, peace, migration and international cooperation.
