ABI staff member Fabricio Rodríguez wrote together with two ABI interns, Isaac Lanan and Robin Dietz, for the current issue of iz3w on the international impact of the elections in Ecuador.
 

In April 2025, run-off elections for the presidency were held in Ecuador. This may seem like a minor issue to many in Germany, as Ecuador tends to be perceived as a marginal geopolitical player in Europe. In reality, however, the country is closely linked to global trade, security policy and drug regulation. Fabricio Rodríguez, Isaac Lanan and Robin Dietz discuss why these aspects deserve more attention in the German context aswell.
