Last weekend Chad expelled the ambassador of Germany, Jan Kricke.
Our colleague Helga Dickow was interviewed by Deutsche Welle. She explains the background of the expulsion and the state of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
"Already for more than two weeks friends from Chad sent me "We hear rumors, there is something regarding the ambassador". And then finally, on Friday night, I saw the messages from the Chadian government on social media, and that really surprised me. What also surprised me was the date, Easter Friday. Because even the authorities in Chad are aware that not many people would be working in Europe on Easter weekend. The procedure surprised me more than the results."
