Tim Glawion ist Ko-Herausgeber des Africa Spectrum, wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Arnold-Bergstraesser-Institut und assoziierter Forscher am German Institute for Global and Area Studies. Er veröffentlichte das Buch The Security Arena in Africa: Local Order-Making in the Central African Republic, Somaliland and South Sudan (Cambridge University Press 2020) and zahlreiche Artikel zu hybrider Ordnung, lokaler Sicherheit, fragilen Staaten, und qualitativer Methodologie. Sein aktueller Forschungsschwerpunkt liegt auf Sicherheitsparadoxen und dem Gewaltmonopol im Libanon und der Zentral Afrikanischen Republik.
